Has anyone tried one of the different Generic Acomplias on the market? They are very reasonably priced and some are made by reputable Pharmaceutical Company's. Whats your feeling on these generics?
I have been taking India's generic called monaslim. I think it's working the same as the acomplia I started with. I paid 130.00 the first time and 35.00 from a different site. They both are identical.
I read where the generic is sold in India for as little as $12 a month in the pharmacies there. Has anyone found it cheaper than $35 a month mail order USA? I am also seeing the mail order sites requiring a prescription to order the Acomplia or the generic. How are you getting around this or you able to get a US doctors prescription? I have a very good friend who is a doctor and says it is illegal for her to write a prescription for a drug that is unapproved by the FDA.
Yesterday, I ordered 2 strips (14 pills, 20 mg each) of Monaslim from a web site . Cost was 47.50 US including 7.50 shipping. I'll keep you posted on my progress. I've been staying up-to-date with Acomplia and its pseudonyms for a couple of years but have never tried it. I'm VERY excited to finally begin. Even if the above web site is a fraud, 47.50 isn't that big a gamble, considering the potential benefits.
Received the two strip order today. Marked Health Products. Routed through Hong Kong. Will start on it tomorrow and keep you all posted. Here's hoping.
I am in my 2nd week of titrating down from 10 mg Lexapro daily (last 6 months or so). It was prescribed to me by a neurologist for anxiety disorder and not depression. However my family doctor wants me off the Lexapro before starting the Monaslim. And, I don't really have any more environmentally induced anxiety. Sooo, I'll start the Monaslim in a week or two. Meanwhile, my wife started on it last Friday and it seems to be having a very significant effect on both her appetite and her feeling of fullness. She's eating a LOT less. She doesn't seem to see it, but I certainly do.The scales will tell the tale, though. I'll keep you posted on her progress. By the way, she's 60 yrs old, 5 ft. 4 inches and over 250 lbs (she won't tell me exactly how much.)
I have been on Rimonabant for 7 weeks and have lost 22#. I am trying to cut back on my eating and the drug makes it easy. The only side affects both myself and my wife have had were some loose stools when we started on the drug. I switched from Acomplia to a generic 2 weeks ago with no noticeable difference. $135 a month Acomplia versus $35 a month generic - I'll stay with the generic.
Wife had to stop taking Monaslim when she had an unrelated cardiac incident. However, I started it a month ago. First two weeks, very subtle, but noticable. Then I ran out and had to wait a week for re-supply. Now been back on for a week. Suddenly, 2 days ago, WHAM! Killed my apetite almost completely. Still effective. Don't know how long this will last, but it's very impressive. I weigh around 280, down from 335 over the last 1.5 yrs. Largely due to Lexapro. But, what a pain that stuff is. I don't recommend it.
I have been on Acomplia for 5 weeks, then a generic Acomplia for 7 more. Total loss - 33#. I don't see any difference in the two. Lately my weight loss has slowed but I still continue to lose some each week with not much effort.
I started taking Acomplia back in Sept., along with an exercise and diet program using a device I found online which helps me carefully monitor both calories burned and consumed.
Since then I have lost 80 lbs, and am on track to make my 100 lbs goal by end of June, which would put me squarely in the "normal for my height" category. My doctor has been literally amazed - I first got Acomplia from one of the UK sites with an "online consultation" but after a couple of months my doctor actually gave me a prescription and I was able to get Monaslim from one of the Canadian sites for much less.
My doc has continued to see me monthly to keep an eye on progress, but overall it's been just great. No side effects at all that I can see, after the first week when I did feel some anxiety. The effects of the drug do seem to have worn off a bit, but I still feel full much faster, and have the will power to resist urges and "just say no".
Dang! I bought mine online and just realized I got had on the price. But they did finally arrive - 4 weeks although I'd paid for expedited shipping. Just took my first one.
