I am fixing to start a diet pill, but am having a hard time deciding between Acomplia & Meridia. Has anyone tried both of these? (not at the same time of course) I would love to hear from people on which one was more effective for them & the side effects that they experienced. I have tried the phentermine & pondimine back when it was out & over the counter pills, but could not stand the way that they made me feel. I just want to get the pill that is the farthest away from making me feel like phentermine.

Meridia does give you a bit of that Phentermine feeling, i.e. dry mouth, sometimes fast heart rate - I don't think it is as severe though. Acomplia tends to make you dizzy in the first week or so, and you can get a weird sensation when drifting off to sleep.

I think that Acomplia will be better for me then. I wanted to die with that Phentermine feeling. Does the Acomplia cause any trouble with getting to sleep or make one tired? I know it's crazy, but the Phentermine made me really tired.

I sleep well, better than normal, but there's a weird jolting sensation that you may get for a while in the first month or so - I rarely get it now. It's nothing to worry over, but it's not a pleasant feeling.
I don't think it make me tired. If anything I have more energy.

I think my attention to detail is not so good at times. It also seems to have the odd effect on short-term memory, i.e. you will be watching TV, then the adverts come on and you can't remember what you were watching! However, I was on Acomplia for three months, then came off and it does go away - phew!
